Get ready… this is going to be a long post!  Emily and Pramod had a wonderful multi-cultural wedding that involved both a Hindu ceremony and a Christian ceremony.  All the festivities were at the lovely DoubleTree in Center City Philadelphia.  We began the day with some getting ready photos and portraits, before everyone changed for the Hindu Ceremony.  Big thanks to Erik Matey for second shooting with me on this super long day! 🙂

Emily and Pramod exchanged gifts with each other before the wedding.

Emily also gave her parents a gift before getting into her dress. She read her car aloud – there wasn’t a dry eye in the room!

And then it was time to get dressed!

Pramod and Emily opted to do a first look to get some of their pictures out of the way before the ceremony.  The DoubleTree had a perfect space – a long walkway lined with windows.  Here is Pramod as he awaits Emily’s arrival.

At this point it was about 12 noon, which means the sun was straight overhead – not so flattering for portraits.  I found this gorgeous doorway that was shaded by the building, perfect for portraits of the bridal party and Emily and Pramod.

After we finished up with portraits, we headed back inside to get ready for the Hindu ceremony.  My favorite part – the gorgeous jewelry!  I absolutely love shooting Hindu wedding’s because they are so colorful and vibrant.

Emily and Pramod are not supposed to see each other until the moment they are married (so let’s pretend the earlier photos didn’t happen, okay? :))… that is Pramod hidden behind the Sari.

I love that in Hindu ceremonies both families are involved.

My favorite part of the ceremony was when they each sprinkled rose petals and rice over each others head… there was a LOT (many, many handfuls).  So funny to see their reactions.

After the Hindu ceremony was concluded, Emily and Pramod changed again back into their first outfits for the Christian ceremony, which was held at this beautiful church.

While the guests were exiting from the ceremony we took some quick portraits on the side of the church, some gorgeous light!

Lastly, we jumped on the trolly and headed over to the Jefferson Campus, which is where Pramod and Emily first met.  They’re both doctors now.
