Laurie and Steve’s wedding was a bit different than they probably imagined. On August 27th the east coast faced what was hyped to be one of the biggest storms to hit the area in decades. What was supposed to be an intimate garden wedding at a beautiful winery ended up being an intimate wedding on a tented patio with rain falling around us… it was still beautiful. Though the impending hurricane surely added a lot of stress to the day, Laurie and Steve rolled with the punches and were truly just happy to be finally marrying each other.
Crossing Vineyards has the most beautiful little cottage for the bride to get ready in. Laurie and Steve bucked tradition and got ready together (although Steve left before she got her dress on).
Some of Laurie’s details…
The date of their first date was engraved inside their wedding rings.
Steve looking serious and handsome…
… and showing his true personality
Laurie and Steve are a perfect match… they both have super fun, outgoing personalities.
Laurie’s mom and godmother helping her into her dress.
The relocated ceremony… Laurie reached out to grab her sons hand as she came down the aisle.
Just after the were pronounced husband and wife… I think they look pretty happy, how about you?
Portraits were a bit of a challenge because of the rain… the inside of the vineyard is pretty small (and full of guests at cocktail hour at this point), but we made it work on the patio…
I love this shot, they just look SO happy!
They were great sports and braved the weather for a few shots in the garden.
The gorgeous Laurie.
Two sides of Steve’s personality
The wedding was very intimate (I think they had around 25 guets total). This room was absolutely perfect. It felt cozy, warm, and romantic on a stormy night.
Dancing took place in the barrel room where the wine is stored; a few shots from their first dance as husband and wife:
Laurie and Steve: It was such a pleasure to get to know you both and be a part of you very special wedding. I hope you love your pictures!
