Abbie and Kenny live in New Orleans but are getting married here in Philadelphia next year. When trying to plan a time to come up north for their engagement session they were having some difficulty coordinating their schedules so Abbie threw out the idea of me going to them. What a fantastic idea! I jumped at the chance to do their engagement session in such an interesting city! While I have photographed destination weddings several times in the past I had never had the opportunity to shoot a destination engagement session – what fun!
The first week of October I flew down to New Orleans for the shoot. Since I had never been to the city before I left Abbie in charge of choosing the locations – and she did a fantastic job! We began the shoot at City Park which is full of old, beautiful live oak trees. It really was a magical location – and so different from anything up here!
After we finished at City Park we headed to the historic French Quarter for more images. What a fantastic location for portraits! So many interesting doors, colors, textures – a photographers dream!
I’m crazy for this orange wall!
All the streets have their names in tiles on the corner, love that!
Of course we had to take a few on the infamous Bourbon Street!
Abbie and Kenny – Thank you SO much for having me! I can’t wait until your wedding in the spring! Join me on Facebook for all the latest!
Ashley,
As usual, you have taken absolutely beautiful photos. A great city with so many unique features. You have captured them and the couple so amazingly 🙂
