This past weekend I shot a wedding that was a bit out of the ordinary for me… no getting ready photos, no ceremony photos… just portraits and the reception. We started off doing portraits at the Mormon Temple here in Las Vegas, then headed out to their reception which was in Arizona… with a brief stop at Lake Mead for some more quick portraits. Here they are 🙂
Hi Ashley,
I actually got to your website because you were the photographer for my sister’s wedding on June 16th. I was looking at your portraits in your earlier posts and on your main website and I was just wondering how you get the lighting to be so perfect…do you use a hand held flash or camera mounted flash? And what kind of camera/lens do you primarily use for your portraits?
Sorry if this is intrusive…but I was just really curious…I love your work!
Thanks,
Valentina

Hi Valentina –
I actually very rarely using any flash or external lighting for portraits, I mainly focus on finding good natural light – whether it be in the shade, or just before sunset.
I shoot with Canon cameras, and for portraits I primarily use my 24-70mm f2.8 lens or m 50mm f1.8 lens.
Thanks for your compliments, feel free to email me if you have other questions!
