Lauren and Alfonso’s wedding day at Cairnwood Estate was the perfect mix of timeless elegance and joyful celebration. Nestled just outside Philadelphia in Bryn Athyn, PA, this historic venue is one of my absolute favorites for its grand architecture, sweeping lawns, and endless photo opportunities. From the romantic floral designs by Pod Shop Flowers to the incredible dinner by Sage Catering, every detail came together beautifully to create a day their guests will never forget.
The morning began with Lauren and her bridesmaids at Love Salon, where the team created effortlessly polished hair and makeup looks that lasted all night. Lauren wore a classic Stella York gown that fit the stately Cairnwood backdrop perfectly, while her bridesmaids looked radiant in soft-hued Azazie dresses. Alfonso and his groomsmen were equally sharp in tailored SuitSupply suits.
Getting Ready at the Historic Estate
One of my favorite parts of the day was photographing Lauren and Alfonso as they got ready inside Cairnwood’s elegant suites. The rooms are bright and light-filled, with tall windows and classic details that create a calm, timeless atmosphere. The soft natural light was perfect for capturing candid moments with their wedding party, as well as those beautiful, quiet portraits that tell the story of the morning. 
Portraits at Cairnwood
Lauren and Alfonso chose to share a first look, giving us plenty of time to explore the gorgeous Cairnwood Estate grounds for portraits. We began on the grand staircase, where the sweeping architecture made a breathtaking backdrop for their emotional first look. From there, we moved to the front façade for timeless, elegant images before wandering through the gardens. The talented team at Pod Shop Flowers enhanced the staircase with lush seasonal blooms, adding a soft, romantic touch to the already stunning setting. After the ceremony, as the evening unfolded, golden-hour light spilled across the lawns, we stepped outside for some sunset portraits —pure magic for these two.
Ceremony at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church
Lauren and Alfonso exchanged vows at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church surrounded by family and friends before heading to Cairnwood for portraits and the celebration. The church’s beautiful architecture and warm atmosphere set the tone for the elegant reception that followed.
Reception in the Tented Patio
The celebration kicked off with a grand entrance in the Great Hall, where Lauren and Alfonso shared their first dance before guests moved to the tented patio for dinner and dancing. Sage Catering served an unforgettable meal, and DJ Ren of VIP Entertainment kept the dance floor packed all night. Guests ended the evening with a delicious cake from Bredenbeck’s Bakery, the perfect sweet finish to a spectacular day.
Every time I photograph a wedding at Cairnwood Estate, I’m reminded why it’s such a sought-after Philadelphia-area wedding venue. Lauren and Alfonso’s celebration was filled with joy, gorgeous details, and so much love—it was an absolute honor to capture.
