A Dreamy Christmas Wedding at Cairnwood Estate | Kristen & Mike

There is something truly magical about Cairnwood Estate during the holidays. Kristen and Mike’s winter wedding felt like a scene straight out of a classic movie—think roaring fireplaces, massive Christmas trees, and that soft, golden winter light that only comes this time of year.

We started the day in the sun-drenched bridal suite, which was beautifully accented with Christmas decor. It provided such a warm, festive backdrop for those emotional getting-ready moments with Kristen and her bridesmaids.

For their first look, we used the iconic Grand Staircase, which was elegantly draped in holiday greens and florals. It was the perfect setting for such a quiet, meaningful moment before the celebration began. We even took advantage of the balcony views to capture those lush Christmas greens from every angle.

Despite the winter chill, we were treated to a spectacular sunset. We snuck out to the gardens for golden hour portraits, capturing that glow that looks so incredible against the estate’s stone architecture. We even gathered the full wedding party on the terrace just as the sun was dipping for some final portraits in that perfect winter light.

The evening kicks off with grand-scale elegance. After the grand entrance, Kristen and Mike shared their first dance and toasts in the Great Hall. It’s such a powerful setting for these moments—the height of the ceilings and the glow of the Christmas decor make the formalities feel like a true event before everyone transitions into the Music Room for dinner.

Dinner was held in the Music Room (often called the Pink Room), which is the perfect size for an intimate, elegant meal. The architectural details here are so fine that it really feels like you’re hosting a private dinner in a French Chateau.

Once dinner concluded, the party really started as the Living Room transformed into the ultimate dance floor. I love this transition because it keeps the energy high—guests move back into a fresh space that feels cozy yet grand, surrounded by holiday lights and candlelight. It truly felt like the best holiday house party ever!
