How would you describe your style?
My style is a blend of documentary storytelling and timeless portraits. My goal on your wedding day is to capture your story authentically – focusing on real moments as they unfold, beautifully documenting the details you’ve carefully selected, and creating elegant, natural portraits that reflect your love.
What is your background? How long have you been in business?
I’ve been a full-time wedding photographer since 2004, after studying Commercial Advertising and Portrait Photography at Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of capturing hundreds of weddings across 18 states (including Hawaii) and even Mexico. My passion for photography started in high school, and it’s been my career and joy ever since. I love exploring new locations, so I’m always excited to travel for a wedding!
Where are you located and do you travel?
I’m based in the Philadelphia suburbs and primarily shoot in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and New York. However, I’m happy to travel anywhere for weddings! Custom packages are available for destination weddings—just reach out with your details for a quote
Is an engagement session included? When should we do it?
Most of my packages include an engagement session, which I highly recommend! It’s a wonderful way to get comfortable in front of the camera and learn how I work. Plus, it gives you gorgeous images from a special time in your life. Many couples also use their engagement photos for Save The Dates, so if that’s your plan, aim for a session 6 months to a year before your wedding. Weekday availability is best, as weekends fill up quickly.
Do you work with a second shooter?
Yes, all my packages include a second shooter. Having a second photographer means more complete coverage and allows us to capture different angles and moments simultaneously. I work with experienced, professional photographers who share a similar style to mine, ensuring consistency and quality throughout your day.
Do you take formal family portraits? Can I give you a shot list?
Yes, I definitely take formal family portraits! Before your wedding, I’ll send you a questionnaire asking for a list of the key family members to include. From there, I’ll create a timeline and shot list that includes all the most important people. You’ll have the opportunity to review and approve the list before the wedding. This ensures that everything is perfectly tailored to your preferences, and helps me capture all the important moments while keeping things smooth and stress-free.
How many images will we receive? Will they be retouched?
You can expect to receive about 100 images per hour of coverage. Each image will be carefully edited for color balance, contrast, and exposure to ensure they look their best. Select images will also be converted to black and white for added variety and timeless appeal.
Should we see each other before the wedding?
If there isn’t a long break between your ceremony and reception, I highly recommend a first look with your fiancé. It’s such a beautiful moment, and it gives us the chance to capture some amazing, emotional images. Completing your formal portraits before the ceremony also ensures we have plenty of time without feeling rushed and allows us to visit more locations for portraits. Plus, it means you’ll be able to join your guests for cocktail hour, which is my personal favorite part of the day!”
How long will it take to see the images?
You’ll see a sneak peek of your images on my Facebook and Instagram within a few days. Your full gallery is typically available in about 10-12 weeks, and at that time, your flash drive will be mailed to you.
What is the payment schedule?
I require a 50% deposit upfront to hold your wedding date, with the remaining balance due in two payments: 50% of the remaining balance is due 90 days before the wedding, and the final payment is due 30 days prior to the wedding. I’ll send automatic reminder emails for all your payments. I accept credit cards and checks for all payments.
Do we get a copy of the high resolution digital files?
Yes! You will receive the high-resolution digital files along with a print release, which allows you to print your images at any lab of your choice. I’ll also provide a recommendation for a professional photo lab for the best quality prints.
How does the album process work?
If your package includes an album, I will create a custom design for you. The design will be shared with you in an online interface, where you can review and leave comments or requests for changes. Once the design is finalized, you’ll select your cover and other customizations to make the album truly yours.
Do you have insurance?
Yes, I am fully insured. If your venue requires proof of insurance, just let me know, and I’ll be happy to provide it.
What kind of equipment do you use?
I use professional Canon cameras and lenses, along with backup equipment to ensure everything runs smoothly in case of any technical issues. Your big day deserves the best!
Do we need to feed you at the reception?
Yes, please! Eight hours is a long time to go without eating, and I get cranky when I’m hungry. 🙂 The best time for us to eat is while you’re eating (you don’t want picture’s of that anyway!). Please ask your venue to feed us during dinner, rather than after all the guests are served, so we have an opportunity to finish eating before reception events continue.
What happens if we go over the contracted amount of time?
If your wedding day runs late and you’d like me to stay longer, I’m happy to accommodate that, with your permission. Additional coverage will be billed at the hourly rate specified in your contract.
