As someone who has photographed numerous weddings here over the last 15 years, the “vibe” never gets old. It’s grand, it’s historic, and it’s undeniably romantic. One of my favorite features is the dedicated space to hang the wedding dress right in front of the grand three-sided mirror and massive windows. It creates that soft, sun-drenched light that is absolutely ideal for bridal portraits and ‘getting ready’ moments.

It features two separate spaces, allowing for total privacy for the bride or a dedicated area for bridesmaids to dress while portraits are happening in the main room. If you’re looking for those “European garden” vibes, the formal Fountain Garden and surrounding stone paths are my absolute favorites for intimate sunset portraits. The estate grounds offer so much variety, allowing us to capture those grand gothic architectural details of the Bryn Athyn Cathedral right from the terrace or find countless natural backdrops in the gardens. For couples who love a more traditional indoor feel, we can also duck into the Library for a sophisticated, Gilded Age look that perfectly complements the mansion’s history.

If you are planning a larger celebration between April and November, the 110-foot South Terrace is a spectacular option for a tented reception. With the ability to add custom draping, lighting and furniture rentals, the tent feels like a seamless extension of the estate. There are even smaller “hidden gems” like the Dining Room and the Billiard Room—perfect spots for a photo booth or a caricaturist to keep guests entertained.
