Snowy Golden Hour Engagement Session at Princeton University: Kylie & Jack
There is a rare kind of magic that settles over a PrincetonUniversity engagement session just after a snowstorm. The usual bustle of campus fades away, leaving behind a quiet, frosted world of gothic stone and fresh powder.
For Kylie and Jack’s engagement session, we arrived just as the air was filled with swirling snow. I love the snow ‘sparkles’ in these first images from the sun bouncing off the blowing snow. It was cold, it was breathtaking, and it provided the most incredible texture for their portraits.
For their second look, Kylie and Jack changed into sophisticated, dressier outfits. A fitted white dress against a blanket of fresh snow is a photographer’s dream; it’s clean, it’s bold, and it makes the architectural details of the campus pop. Even as the temperature dropped, the energy didn’t—pairing that dress with a black suit gave the final half of the session a timeless, cinematic feel.
Winter engagement sessions can be a bit chilly, but as these photos prove, the payoff is absolutely worth it. There is something so romantic about having this iconic campus all to yourself in the middle of the snow.
